January 22, 2010 “Gotcha Day”

In the Orlando Airport

Not a birthday but a Gotcha Day. A day that will be celebrated every
year! It came a full year before I ever imagined it would but God
uniquely planned this day and this time in these circumstances and we

We’ll be taking this one day at time with you, first losing your
biological mother in the Hurricanes in 2008, being placed in an
orphanage with no familiar faces and then living through a 7.3
earthquake that has devestated your country. Followed by at least 50
aftershocks of 4.5 or higher, let’s be honest those are earth-shaking-
quakes. You are strong and resilient, we know, but this past week
would be traumatic to the strongest of adults.

We pray God protected your little heart mind through all of this and
can’t wait to get to know you!

-Planning to hibernate with “lil k” for a period of time. Watch for
pictures and updates bit give us a little bit of time before he’s
expected to be the fun and smiley kid we knew in Haiti.

  1. I love that! Gotcha DAY! Thank you for sharing this marvelous experience with all of us. Praying for all of you!

  2. “Gotcha Day” – awesome! Congrats guys. 🙂

  3. He looks GREAT, Kristin 🙂
Enjoy settling into your new “normal”…

  4. That is a wonderful thing to celebrate yearly. So amazing. You and Jake and Kemly are enormous reasons to smile and see the all-encompassing power of God. He is the source of all that we will ever need. I continue to pray for you each.
